  • I did the show for the first time in 2011. I feel it was run very well. They had people to help move the set-up material and let us visit the food area for free. The art area is free for all, but I would guess that 95% of the people had come for the food area and paid. There were many browsers but fewer buyers. I am used to some people walking by and others stopping but the proportion stopping appear to be less in this show. I did OK financially but have not decided yet whether to return.

  • Actually, I'm curious about that too.  It has the potential to be a fantastic show but I think I just may have tried before some of the kinks were worked out.

  • I did this show in 2010, sales no that great, I am wondering if anyone who did the 2011 show had better results? Have family in Cleveland and this would be a good mix if the sales are up.

  • Great idea - Thanks
  • When I participated, everyone had to bring their own materials - they don't supply anything.  I ended up taking my tent skeleton and using the walls but not the lid.
  • I

Thanx - Davidwas accepted in the show this November, 2011 (Photography). I noticed in photos that some people had traditional outside white tents. Others had walls. Does anyone know if they supply walls making a tent unnecessary?

  • Hey, given the chance to go watch Guy Fieri [sp] and some of those other big personalities in person, I can see why attenders just hurried on by...

Again, that was just my experience.  Other people may have had tremendous success.

  • Thanks for the feedback, this has been my experience in the past with food shows too.
  • I did it once a few years back and did not return.  The location inside the I-X center was great and the organizers were wonderful.  Unfortunately for me (and I can't speak for everyone), the year that I did this show attenders were interested in food, not art.  There were some browsers but I did not do well at all.  One of the common artists gripes was teh fact that artists could not go into the food venue but union rules did not permit "off site" food, leaving artists with a selection of 3-4 sky-high priced food vendors.  Things may have changed since then.   If the right combination is struck, I think this show has the potential to be fantastic.
  • Ok insiders, who has done this show? In the past I have had really mixed results with shows that also feature food, as in most people come for the food and not to buy art. Would be interested in this show if anyone thinks it is a possible winner!
