Well gang, this was my first year doing Black Swamp Arts Festival in Bowling Green. Ohio. First year with a Honorable Mention Ribbon. But my sales were though the roof. I didn't know how this fair would went. But my sales total was $3397.50. Not bad for a two day art festival. I really like this fair. People were always within my booth. So many art fair patrons visited my booth. I am really amazed my time was invested into this show so heavily. Bringing in 155 5x7s and another 45 8x10s, And there was five new canvas prints too. One of then sold at the fair. I am definitely going to be back next year. And the volunteers were amazing. Sorry I don't have photos of the fair. I did not have time to take any photos.

I also did the show and had a really great time! I do lampworking, specializing in hollow beads so the jewelry category is always iffy. It is a nice show with the volunteers being wonderful! They provide some very nice snacks for the artists! The weather was nice and customers seemed very responsive to the work. Setting up is very easy and parking is close unless you arrive late. I hope I have the opportunity to participate next year.
good to know.. I use to live in Toledo and have been to Bowling Green many times. A friend keeps saying "why aren't you doing Black Swamp" of course then she would get to see me... Feedback like this puts it on my list to apply for
I am happy for you, Scott. A great show can sure make you leave a show happy.
Scott and Trisha, we could sure use a couple of reviews of this show at www.Artshowreviews.com. If you two could take a few minutes to write a review for us we sure would love it.
My husband and I did Black Swamp Arts Fest too. We also had a great show. The weather was perfect both days. We have done the show since 2012 and this was probably our best show yet. Most artists we talked to did best with items in the under $100 price range and most folks we spoke with seemed happy with sales.
It is just over 100 artists but there is an attached show for wood county residence only that had another 50 artists. That part of the show is in a parking lot and is clearly separate- I did not venture over there this year. The juried show is all along the main street. Everyone gets a corner since we are set up on quads. No storage behind but we used the area to the side and some people set up storage and chairs on the sidewalk. The crowd is a mix of mostly college students and locals. A good part of the crowd attends for the music but there are some buyers there too. The music is great and we were happy with our booth this year but depending on your location it can be very loud. The hospitality room provides snacks, coffee and water all day (and real toilets) and the volunteers and organizers are great!
Good for you, Scott. Thanks for reporting in -- too bad you didn't have time to take photos!! That is great news too.
Any idea how large this show is? and since you live so close, why haven't you done it before?
Fantastic for you Scott! How was the distribution of artists? How many artists were there?
