Just spent two hours on phone to get rid of this 7.95 monthly charge. I stopped using Nurit in favor of square two years ago but somehow " magically" my American Express account was re activated and they have been charging me this monthly fee,Called American Express merchant services and they canceled account and agreed to refund two years worth of bogus charges. Buyer beware...seems like this has happened to lots of other artist
I discovered this fee once and when I called Amex I learned it had something to do with having an online merchant account versus a paper statement. They refunded the fee, certainly, and I still have an Amex merchant account. I don't use the Square, but rather Rambler 2.0 Mobilepay from Apprivapay and First Data. All runs through my bank, Banker's Bank of the West. There's no additional fee to use Amex, just the normal percentage. I can't remember exactly, but Amex percentage might be slightly higher than all others. They've traditionally been that way.
Lesson learned? Always read and audit every statement you get.

Still being an AmEx merchant allowed me to participate in Small Business Saturday, which I promoted on my Facebook page and sales followed.
