ACRE Las Vegas

I am considering applying to this show and I am wondering if any of you have done it; if so, what is your feedback?  It is very easy to spend alot of money exhibiting at shows that have previously had a good reputation but may or may not have changed in recent years.

Thank you!

  • thanks everyone for the informaiton

  • Aha!  Thanks for getting back.

  • same here, I'm in Easton, Pa.

  • Sheru, yes, ACRE is a good organization.  I'm not doing Vegas because I have a big retail art show already scheduled that happens shortly after Vegas and I'll be busy making product for that.  Also, I'm in Cincinnati so logistically speaking it takes more time and money to get me and my booth out to Vegas than it does to get to Florida, and I just hadn't planned my show schedule to accommodate Vegas.  Now having done Orlando in January I will likely re-arrange my 2014 schedule so I can also do Vegas next year.

  • I do alot of retail craft shows, It was just a decision to not do Vegas this yr. I need to set up at a show the day after vegas ends. and I have a show the Sat. before.

  • Thank you so much, guys! If I understand you correctly, you're saying the Orlando show definitely has good potential and that the Vegas show can also be worth doing.  Also, overall, that ACRE is a good organization.

Louise, is your choice not to do the Vegas show based on something you have heard or experienced, or just that you have to make a choice based on your own personal criteria/resources/location, etc.?

Karen, thank you so much for the detailed feedback!  Very good to know.

    All the best.

  • I made some sales. Some did better then others. Depends what you have.

And I'm trying to build it up. I'm going again next Jan. But I'm not doing Vegas, I have a friend who is though. And people who were there in Jan. are going.

  • I just did ACRE Orlando in late January and had a great experience.  The quality of art is fantastic and the buyers are knowledgeable.  The show is well organized and the staff bends over backward to be helpful and accommodating.  I picked up many new accounts.

ACRE Las Vegas naturally pulls more buyers from the West Coast.  This year the show is during the week rather than the weekend, which will cater to more buyers' retail schedules, and the convention area is right in the host hotel with phenomenally low room rates.

The show is smaller than the other major wholesale shows in NY, Atlanta and Philly, but the booth fee is smaller too.  My opening orders far exceeded my expenses in Orlando, so all was good.  Re-orders from those new accounts will be gravy.

If you have the money and the time, I'd say it's a no-brainer.  Go for it!

  • but what about sales?????

  • I did the Orlando show in Fl. in Jan.

    They are very nice people.
