This shot was taken in the Shenandoah National Park Big Meadows in Virginia. My friend and I came across three doe. We followed them into the woods where the larger and older one laided down on a pile of leaves. The other two stood around grazing. They appeared quite comfortable with us so over the next two hours we moved slowly in closer. They appeared to show no fear of us being near them as we sat quietly taking pictures. This was shot with a Nikon D70 and a AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens at f5/6.
