I'm in the process of uploading images on zapplication and was confused about when they ask price of piece, is that price for the original or reproduction? Also in the description section of piece, I simply paint oil on canvas. Is there any other thing I need to put? It's a simple description but can't think of any other way to put it. Please help!

The shows want to know the retail price of the original. Why has always been a mystery to me. The one thing I can think is that some of the Chinese mass produced paintings are sold at a ridiculously low prices....
Simple description usually means process (or that what I think it means.) Oil paintings on clay board. Oil painting, Acrylic painting etc. Its just to help the jurors know what they are looking at. Sometimes in some media its not that clear.
First of all, never use the word reproduction or print in your description because if you apply to a show that doesn't allow reproductions, they will still be able to read that in your work and individual descriptions. I'd say to use prices for originals because even shows that don't say no reproductions, may not be happy with but tolerate them.
Make sure your images are 1920 square with black masking rectangular images.
Thanks Larry. I was just making images 1920 on the longest side according to zapp directions. Is that wrong? Also what about the description part? Is saying " oil on stretched canvas" good enough?

If you make them 1920 on one dimension, ZAPP will square them and add the black borders and resave your JPEGs. 1920 square is the only way your images will get seen by the jurors exactly as you've uploaded them. ZAPP didn't change the image format that they shows see the images but they did change the wording on the web site in August 2009 making it very confusing for artists.
