I'm on the road so please forgive my typing. Does anyone know an appropriate figure for selling an image and full rights to that image for commercial advertising? I'm in need of a quick response and I cannot research right now.

There is no one word answer. First of all it's licensing, not selling. Payment is determined based on usage which includes size, quantity of run, length of time the image is to be used for and extent of distribution in area of the world covered..

But you need to get answers to the questions about physical size of the image compared to the size of the publication, length of time it's going to run and quantity and whether it will be local, national or world wide.
