Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this show...  My wife had done it back 4-5 years ago when we were first starting out and haven't touched it since...was told it was a very off year.  So bad so the promoters were apologizing during the awards dinner.   Anyways now living in the Orlando area I figured I'd apply again.  Hoping I didn't make a mistake as I've not been accepted.

thanks,

Matt

  • The Maitland show with night hours and music is the fall show.  I'm local and did the spring show twice and it is in my "never again" file.  The fall show is definitely the better show and even that one was off this year.  Both of them need to reduce the artists by about half.  With the number of artists that they have now, many artists are going to get bad spaces.  There was also either a significant amount of buy/sell at the spring show, not so much at the fall show.
  • I did it a couple of years ago while the condos next door were still under construction.  Layout made no sense as there were lots of broken legs and walk arounds where patrons missed one section or another.  Awards dinner was good, but it was an expensive dinner as there were few sales.  I understand last year there were night hours with music?????

The year I went I didn't see much in the way of buy/sell and actually thought quality was pretty good.  Promotors came around asking for "suggestions for next year."  I can't afford to go back and try again after such a substantial loss, but the application/invitation does look good.

  • I did the show several years ago maybe the year you exhibited, it was just ok lots of buy/sell some terrible spaces, if I lived close by I would give it another try, for me it only takes one good customer to make my show.
