Hello, I am looking for an experienced oil painter who can help me restore a 1865 painting 6 feet tall by "Bullett". It has several tears and i want to take it off the original streacher, repair tears and put back on. It use to hang in President Mc Kinley house. It is too expencive to have the DIA do it. Am not concerned about resale value as it will stay in family. I live in about 1 hour noth of Detriot. Hi Larry, Yes I have gone that route and they want a fortune to restore. I am not in the positon to put that amount of $ into it. Have looked into grants too. Just wanted to work with someone local as it could be a long process . Thanks for the advice and still waiting for my brother to help as he is out of the country. Thanks Pam
