I have done the PA Guild show in Wilmington in the beginning of August, and while there, customers told me about an outdoor show in Delaware, in Sept.

I've tried to search it, no luck. I believe it was in a park, not the street.

Sounded like a small town in a populated area.

Definitely not Brandywine.

The customers were happy with it.

Anyone has any ideas as to what I may be talking about?

Thanks!

Judy

  • Might be the Bethany Beach Boardwalk show, second Saturday in September?  It's a tough load in due to long boardwalk ramp, tight parking, and less-than-three-hour time to get unloaded and set up, but it's a good show.

    • Geoff,

That was not the show, I have heard of that show before, when I lived in Ohio, so I never pursued it.

Now that I live 4 hours closer, I'll look at that one, too.

      Thank you!

  • Was it a one day show?  They may have been talking about the Arden Fair.  It's the Saturday of Labor Day weekend in Arden, DE.  It's a small artists community.  I've done the show for several years and there's a bit of everything - there's a flea market area (separate from the show), food, a beer court with music, book sale, good food and then the crafts.  It's all supposed to be hand made, but many spaces are iffy.  It's an inexpensive show $50 with 10% commission and not too far from home.  Way, way, way too much jewelry, but I've got my regulars who stop by (and some of them found me after the Chase Center show).

    • Megan,

that could be it, I remember that it was small. And, if not, it sounds worth a try - thank you!

  • Deborah, did you look through the www.ArtFairCalendar.com?  We have another Delaware show listed there besides Brandywine.  Also check our www.Callsforartists.com.  There may be a couple Delaware shows there.  I hope you find what you are looking for.

    • Thanks, Jacki, I will look at those.

I did the Guild show the past two years, this year I'm skipping.

First year my sales were fine. Second year, ok but significantly less  $$. Nice show, indoors,

did not hear any complaints from the neighbors. Not a large volume of people coming through, but those that were there seemed to be purchasing.

  • and how was the guild show in wilmington?

  • Brandywine

    • Thanks, but no, it wasn't. I am familiar with that show.

      It was a small show.
