Jury photos

Is it ever appropriate or acceptable to have more than one item in a photo. For an example, I have three wood turnings that are similar but have dyed them in red, natural and blue. I call them my Americana collection.

Question... Would it have a negative affect on the jury if I showed all three in one photo or would it be ok.   Your thoughts please.

  • If the pieces are sold as a set, yes, unless the show actually tells you only one piece per image it would be appropriate. But I wouldn't use more than one image with multiple pieces and depending on the arrangement of all your images, you still need to keep the presentation balanced. The only show I know of that requires one piece per image is Lakefront. For artists that need to show detail, I've suggested making the detail image of a different piece than the other jury slide pieces in that particular presentation.
