  • that's my opinion and I'm sticking by it.

    • Thank you Robin, you are so right, I used Square for the first time at a show.  I appreciate all the other tips about the smart phone.

    • Thanks Robin, that's what everybody is saying about square. I'm going to try it first.

  • Search no more!! Go with www.squareup.com

I love 'em. Never had a single problem with customer service or anything else.

They are great! If you want the funds in your checking account by Monday morning, for the lowest possible fee (2.75%) and no monthly or start up charges, this is for you. All you need is a smart phone, which you may have already, but if you don't you'll probably benefit, because you can check weather conditions, local restaurants, a whole lotta other things of value - and you can write off the cost of the smart phone as a business expense.

  • I will recommend to use Intuit or Square. My best advice carry  both. Regard to customer service square is by far the worst.

  • Jan is right.  And you should also know that, so far as I know, AFI isn't "recommending" 1st National.  They're a paid advertiser.

  • You will find that many of us on this forum no longer have merchant accounts. We've dropped them in favor of POS services like The Square (used with a smartphone or iPad). There are other POS services that no longer require merchant accounts.

    I don't know anything about 1st National.

    • I have square, guess I'll try it first. 1st National is like square but they charge $5. a month, the card reader is free but shipping is 15. or 20. ground, 2 year contract. But customer service is supposedly there for you.
