Food at shows

I have recently heard a story about a food vendor that cooks delicious sauteed artichokes at art fairs that was turned down by the Naples Florida shows with the notice that it was too much of the same old same old..??? How many times are you stuck at a show and all they have is Hamburgers. hotdogs, philly cheese and kettle corn, how nice to have something different to eat. As an artist with good taste in food, I am offended to hear that artichokes is the same old same old...any comments>> would love some feed back on this one

  • One year at the Muskegon July Fourth weekend show, Pizza Hut was a sponsor that had a booth and was delivering personal pizzas to the artists booths for $5. The show put their foot down and refused to let them deliver. So artists had to leave their booth unattended to get something to eat. Shows don't always make good choices about food, or about art, go figure.

    • Wow!!! I love it when the local restaurants come by with menus. One year, I got she-crab soup, and jambalaya for 5 dollars..

Shame on Pizza Hut for deliveries...

  • Yeah, I'm sick of artichokes at shows.  I prefer brats, funnel cakes, and turkey legs.

Here's something new.  Today, our wonderful President Obama has rescinded the ban on the slaughter of horses for food.   http://frugivoremag.com/2011/11/hide-your-horses-obama-signs-bill-t...

Hey how about horse burgers at a show.  That would be something new.  To paraphrase Marie Antoinette: "Let them eat horse."

Btw, when you are starting a new forum discussion 1) look at the bottom and post it to the proper catagory. 2) Leave tag descriptions so people doing a search can find the discussion.

    • Thanks Barry, I was in a hurry and entered without filling out the rest. Yes, artichokes, same old same old.

We had a lovely crepe maker at my last show, delicious!!!
