On Sunday morning I held a seminar on "Improving Jury Images and other Art Fair Tips" at the event. Did you attend? I would really appreciate some feedback. Specifically:

- What did you learn?
- What was the most helpful thing you learned?

Yes, I was at the seminar and really enjoyed it. I've been doing shows forever so can't say I really learned anything new, but some things I knew were really reinforced. For instance, the importance of all the images hanging together as a group and showing direction. The jury doesn't want to be impressed by how many things you can do, but by how well you can do something.
I was a little late so maybe I missed this, but I would have liked you to start by showing several sets of images and pointing out the good and the bad and then going to the images of the people in the seminar.
I found it interesting that there were so many people who seemed to be new to the business. They didn't know some of the most obvious things, but they were eager to learn and to take criticism and learn from it. I'm hearing a lot of talk about how old all the art fair regulars are becoming - a year ago at the Vero Beach awards dinner I think every person coming up for an award was an old guy with a scraggly gray beard! This showed me that there IS some fresh blood coming in.
