Fan pages are critical in the modern age of social media. For every "LIKE" you get, you have the possibility of attracting countless new fans. I have only recently dropped the priority of my .com site to focus on my fan page on Facebook. It is far easier to maintain, and it reaches my audience anytime I want to. As artists, we need each other. That being said, I would like to offer a LIKE for a LIKE. There was a thread about this a while ago, but I suppose a fresh one is not a bad thing. As much as I can't stand FB for personal use, it has been a great business tool. I promote my shows, new photos, friends artwork, interesting articles, ect. on my page. My sister helps me out a lot with it, she actually runs social media marketing for some HUGE companies and has shown me how much of a great resource it is for a small business.
