I noticed a lack of reviews for Virginia shows. I later will submit comments on several I plan on taking part in this spring. In the interim, does anyone have a word on the Gosport Art festival and…Continue

planning to submit to a Baltimore show in July, but confused by its electronic application images requirements: "max width of 640 (I assume ppi) but up to "250MB." First is very small , second is…Continue

My photoshop guilt is gone-- or at least subsided-- thanks to finding a display of late 19th Century photographers called "pictoralists."
the Phillips Collection museum in Washingtron DC recently had an exhibit on their work. As more amateurs were using cameras, these high-level photographers wanted to move away from plebian reality into what they saw as something more artistic. Paragon runs events in silver spring maryland in the fall and spring. Does anyone have info on those events or on the producer?
Hi H.T.- AOTA is usually a great show for me, but 2010 the weather was very dreary and there weren't many folks out that day. This year they're going to a 2-day show (Saturday-Sunday w/security overnight). I haven't done Stockley as the fall show ends up being the same weekend as Seafood Festival, but have heard it's a good show for artists as well as buyers. Do you have any shows coming up for spring?
(btw- don't know about the gift thing... I bet you've found out by now anyway:-)
Oh we don't agree we agree to disagree but we both love art, he is a graphic artist and artist in wood, my husband is also but I do the photographs, I have to yell at him to finish my site as he doesn't want to quit working in the shop. You ought to take a look at his but I have to have mine finished as I want a galley up.
We also have our own business outside of art but I really don't like the pressure henceforth the photographs, the old south goes along with my poetry books. I love to take pics of the past, everyone talks about digital cameras but they are the future and I like them. You can do so much with them.
Every show I go to wants it in digital except one and they want three prints but you know what they come from a digital. Funny.
