Try calling St. James and ask where you are on the wait list. They called me a couple of days ago but I had already accepted a wait list spot on the 4th Street section about three weeks back. I would have preferred to be on the original St. James…

I am on the wait list for the St. James Court Section of the St. James Court Art Show. The location of the Kentucky Shakespeare Court is Magnolia and 4th Street at the Landward House Parking Lot. Yes, I am concerned about the size. If you have…

Which show of the four major St. James Court shows are you wait listed for? There is another small one in a Baptist church parking lot, but I doubt if they get much foot traffic. Looks like this organization is trying to cash in: and it is likely in…

Kentucky Shakespeare Festival Court at St. James Court Art Show (Louisville)

I am on the wait list for the St. James Court Art Show.  The promoter of the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival Court got my name, and invited me to attend their show, which is coinciding with the St. James Court Art Show.  I am hesitant to enter this show at $500 booth fee if I won't be able to meet my show costs. I have attended several shows this year (category painting), and lost money at metropolitan based shows.  I am thinking that wall art is connected to the housing industry, and when the…See More

Wow, Heather! Great guidance here. It supports my Aunt's advice of focus and limiting choices (she's a big-wig in advertising and marketing). Her focus groups revealed that when people have too much to choose from, they tend to then not…

Boy, I agree with this! Even with Zapplication, you have to glean this information out as to "where" these shows are! Folks, your art show isn't as well known as you think! Put down your location under your dates, PLEASE!!!!!

Newbie Working Through the "Creative Doldrums"

Hello everyone~I've decided that the best place to blog (via internet or in person) about my new "profession" is here... who better to talk to about the ups and downs of the art business than those artists that have been "at it" over the years!First, a little about me: I am one of those people who seems to be a jack of all trades and master of none. I was one of the top instrumental musicians in my 5A school years ago. I was also one of the top visual artists. And I was good at everything else,…See More

Unfortunately, a mere "acceptance" does not necessarily create a contract. Only when money passes hands (at least $500, I think is the Statute of Limitations amount). Contract law requires certain elements before it becomes a ligitimate…

Art Card Paper

I am currently printing up Christmas Cards on my new Epson Stylus Pro Graphics Edition 3880 . The paper I am using is Museo #6 Standard 4-1/2 x 5-13/16 and love the results. It is pricey, though ($65 for 100 cards/envelopes). What are other people using?
