Amy Atkinson commented on Pat Sorbini's blog post 'Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts-Buffalo, NY'
My nephew's a capella group ("The Lake Effect" from Buffalo) sang there this year, and they had a great response, too. Maybe I'll try for it next year, even though I'm not from Western NY.

I started another post earlier regardning choosing a credit card company, but can't find it, so I'll report my experience here. I did end up giving Bancard a try, thanks to all the help Marcelo (previous poster) gave me. He adn his techie…

Our company is working very hard to try to stop this annual fee for PCI Compliance. If we are able to do this we will only charge $19.95 a month if the PCI verification is not done. If anyone is interested in processing with us, please visit our…

Definitely! This is how I was able to get my money back, because it was obvious that the pages stating I had a 3-year contract were not faxed from me or part of the original agreement they had sent me.

I am not sure, maybe some processors are cashing in on this part of it. If they are a large processing bank, sometimes the people down the chain don't know whats going on. They are sometimes just passed the information and they have to give the…

Sigh.... even more confusing. Why does your number, a yearly number, differ so greatly from the 1st National number, which was monthly. I heard that was the company to trust, but now your information is completely different. I don't mean to be…

Yes Kevan I am in the industry, this fee will not be implemented until June 2010 if it happens, we are still trying to fight this fee with our bank. All merchants have to understand that there still will be a $19.95 charge if they do not follow the…

Are you in the industry? Or are you an artist? If with the industry, which company? I could live with $99 a year, but the guy from 1st National this morning said it could be $50-100 monthly, or higher....

Kevan, You are right i just found out that the bank is forcing us to charge all our merchants $99.00 a year for PCI Compliance, I am trying everything possible to remove this fee from our merchants. All merchants have to be fully compliant with the…

ok, I know this has been talked about a lot, but I've read through all the very helpful comments and after several days of research adn thinking, decided to go with 1st national, mostly based on all the help I've found here. However, they…

I really do apologize for the Merchant Service industry. There are a lot of reps that work out of their livingroom and really don't know the business. They are told to just sell machines and thats it. Usually you will not be able to get a hold…

Thanks so much for all the good info. I too have only done 1 day shows...5 in the last couple of years. I have finally gotten my booth the way I want it. I just got notified last night that I have been accepted into my first 2 day juried show the…

Amy's suggestion of putting the necklace on the customer is a good one. I attended a "boot camp" for art show artists a couple of months ago, and letting the customer hold the art was strongly recommended, as it gives them a sense of…

You sent an email out to everyone in the jewelry group... We cannot respond that way. You should post it to the group discussion board instead of emailing it.

As for what happens if you sell out.. that is not a good thing as far as the promoter would be concerned. Also if you don't have something, you cannot sell it. Bring as much as you can, but do not overload your display. Keep some in reserve. You can always spread out more if you sell a lot. It is hard to know what will sell at each show. You may go to one that all you sell is amethyst and the next one only the glass ones sell- or whatever you work with... 2 day shows could have the same sales as 1 day shows or a 1 day show could sell more than a 3 day. It depends on so many things.
