Classic Maya Burial Plate - all Codex pottery currently displayed on this feed is from the Classic Maya Period. Two important elements of these 4 pieces are the incredible artistic talent and knowledge of Francisco Lopez and the fact that each piece is fire kilned by Br. Richard Hansen's team, in the same manner, the Classic Maya prepared their ceramics. Unfortunately, they have not been able yet to replicate the Pre-Classic Mayan method which has a heavier waxy build upon their ceramics.
