OMG -- you guys are all posting in last year's thread! Thanks for finding it -- can you post in this one instead? So many shows during June. If you live in my region you aren't really in the business unless you are doing June shows. It used to be our best month for income.

What's upcoming? Howard Alan show in Colorado, Amdur new show in New Buffalo, Marin Art Festival, Larry Weinles' show in Crown Valley, Lathrup Village, Milwaukee's Lakefront, Boardwalk in Virginia, Nancy Saturn's show in Nashville... what have I missed?

  • I'm going to Algoma, Wisconsin (near Green Bay) to see my adorable grand baby for the weekend.  I'll see my son too, but really, it's all about the baby...

    • That's a trip worth doing... is that his photo in your profile pic?

  • Leeper Park in South Bend, IN.

I've never done that show before, and just hoping it turns out okay. It's about a three hour drive and just about the only major town in the state without direct interstate connection to Indy.

    • I hope to see you there, Robert.

  • Worthington Art Festival, Art on the Green, in the Columbus area.  booth NW57.  It was a good show for me last year.  Hoping for even better this year!

    • This is a little secret show, Kathy, and over the years I've had friends participate. Where do you live? How long a drive is it for you and how far do you think someone should drive to get there?

  • Since the people in Virginia Beach for the Boardwalk Art Show are probably already out manning their booths, I copied this info from the previous thread from last year:  Harrison Otator will be in booth 2312, Alison Thomas will be in booth 2816, and Michael Lee will be in booth 2010.  I will be walking around on Saturday and hope to stop and say hello to these AFI members.  I will also be visiting at the "Flip Flops and Canvas" show going on Saturday at the Jewish Mother (restaurant/club) in the Hilltop area of Virginia Beach.  It's a small, low-key show, with about dozen local artists.

Good luck to all those doing shows this weekend, especially the Virginia Beach Boardwalk Show.  Today is a little windy and possibly rainy, but the rest of the weekend looks great.

    • Thanks for this info, Dave. Say hit to them for me also. I've met Harrison a couple of times, he should do well in this business and would love to meet Allison who has been so helpful on this site. Hi to Michael also.

Thought I was still recovering from my NYC trip but now think I may have to visit the Leeper Park show in South Bend or the new show in New Buffalo...

  • Edmonds Art Festival, Edmonds WA, booth 441.  After 6 years of applying, we FINALLY got accepted!!

    • Hope this show turns out to be worth the wait, Ruth. Let us know on Monday if it was just another show or something special. Best wishes.
