Trimline Question

I have been reading lots of posts and have decided a trimline would be the best to buy.I would rather start off with the best then have a problem later and have to replace. My question is have any of you that have trimlines went with the awnings? If so what did you like or not like about them? Do you have the tall trimline or just the regular and what or why did you choose to go with them or not? There is alo blackout tops and enhanced tops which did you choose and why? What about the walls did you go with a center wall or just left it standard? They also off rear doors good or not so good? I know lots of questions but just had to ask. Thanks for all who reply.

  • We have had our trimline for over 10 years now. We have three awnings. Two 30" which we use on the front and the side if we have the side open. A 50" for the back which gives us room behind the booth to be in the shade or dry when there is room. Many of times we put the back awning up so that it touches the booth behind us and we both have shade. Do we like the awnings, yes. If I had it to do over I would get another of the awnings that let light in to replace the blackout one we have. As far as the height, we feel that we like the normal hight and use 61 lbs of weight on each leg. We have center zippers in all sides making it easier to roll up and down. Clean it a couple of times a year and fold it up not throw it wadded up in your vehicle and it will last a long time. Most people cannot believe ours is over 10 years old. We expect it to last another 10 years because we take care of it.
  • I just got mine and set it up for the first time. One thing I highly suggest getting is the easy riser kit. It made it very easy for me to set up the tent all by myself.
  • I love my trimline. It is heavy but you will be glad it is when the rain and wind come!

I have the shorter awning. I like it cause it keeps my front from getting wet (the work) in the rain and it's a nice shade for the work as well. I like the natural light too. I didn't get the extra large awning as some of the set-ups I've been in don't allow your booth to go over the alloted area (that includes awnings). But I have seen folks with them that really like the extra protection. I wish I had awnings on front and back and am saving up for another.
  • Hi Jeannette,

I have a trimline and I love it. It is heavy to lug around, but is very sturdy.

I would go with a top that has as much transparency as possible. You can never have enough natural light in your booth.
The awnings, I doubt you would need them in blackout... regular would be fine.

I am kind of wishing that I had gotten the taller trimline so that, if I wanted to in the future, I could buy the propanel top extensions to make my display wall taller.

The door situation really didn't matter to me... I either have the walls rolled up, zipped down, or I'm using the back wall as a rear awning to shelter me from the rain or sun.

Good luck and enjoy the satisfation that you are not going to blow away in the wind... ;)
(Just get good weights... I have 70lbs on each foot)
  • Of all the options you list, which ones serve you best?
Do you need an awning? They're pretty good to have.
Does your work require a taller unit? Or can you do just fine with the standard height?
Do you feel you need the enhanced or blackout tops for displaying your work? if not, why buy them?
Do you need a center wall? And would your display allow you to have a rear door that butts right up to the canopy behind you?

You're choosing a canopy for your needs, not someone else's. So go with the options you need.
