Transporting Pro Panels & Art

I am selling my current (heavy!) Grid Wall system and want to purchase a Pro Panel - type system.

Question - will I be able to transport all 9 - 38" panels AND my art in a Ply. Voyager minivan?  I usually take 20 paintings that are mostly 16"x20" and under - not huge pieces.

I don't want to put out the money if I have to use a trailer to haul both at the same time.  Advise is welcome!

  • I used a Plymouth Voyager, one of the extended models, and was able to pack in a set of 7 foot pro panels along with a set of Roughneck totes carrying 18x24 frames and a combined tote that carried 24x30 frames. Mine was a '99. The recent models have changed the interior configuration and the rear door was narrowed. I wasn't sure the design would allow the panels to stack straight along the interior wall as they used to, and finally made the decision to go with a full size van. Since you mention yours was a Plymouth, it has to a 99 model or earlier as that was the last year Plymouth was made. If yours is the Grand Voyager, then you can fit the panels, tent, and your paintings in the minivan. The short ones won't work unless you go with the 6 foot panels or the KD panels.

  • Hey Kelly, I have a tundra with a camper shell. I couldn't fit every thing in the back so I got a rack system mounted on top about $250.00. And strap all the panels on the roof. Works great and for a good price.
  • Figure it out. The panels are about an inch thick so subtract about a foot in height from your interior space and that's how much space will be left over for your canopy and art. Does the length of the Pro Panels fit?

    • Thanks Larry.  I couldn't find size specs on the thickness of the panels.  I've seen them in shows but never looked at their thickness.  I think they will work fine with my van.
