Thank You, Secret Santa!

Packages are in the mail and arriving at their destinations across the U.S. and Australia! Keep an eye out for the mailman if yours hasn't arrived.

What to do next:

Post images of your received gift here. We want to see the creativity and scope of the imaginations of our members.

  • everyone who shares the photo will receive a gift from me of my two e-books, "Getting Started at Art Fairs" and "Secrets of the Art Fair Insiders"
  • the best photo/gift combo will receive a portable Solar Charger for iPhones, iPads and other USB powered devices
  • (as I told you before I stole this idea from Reddit.com - this link will show you the Reddit giftees showing off their gifts)

Santas, how is this working for you? I'm open to suggestions for improvement.

Thanks for playing with me!

  • I have to apologize to my Secret Santa for not posting a photo of the fabulous scarf she sent me! It is in my favorite color range and very loopy and fun. Unfortunately one of my cats thinks so too (I suspect Peabody, the kitten) and she has hidden it so well that I haven't found it in three weeks!!! When I do it will be thoroughly photographed, probably with said kitten, then put where ONLY I can find it and wear it.
  • Well, look what arrived in the mail!   All the way from the USA... some very pretty earrings just for me!  Thank you to my mystery Secret Santa and the only hint I have is that they live in VA?  Who are you!?

Since all you lovely folks have photos of you with your pressie, here goes!  I dislike all photos of me - this one is no better, taken by my 12y.o. - my excuse is after it being around 110F for the last three days and still around 80F at night (and no airconditioning), it's starting to wear on me ... (or maybe I'm just getting old!)

    • Annette I am glad that you are pleased with the earrings....All the white metal is sterling silver, including the tubes.

Sorry, for not replying sooner, but just logged on today to see this thread.

      Happy New Year!

      • Thanks Alesia - love them!!

        • It has got to be tricky sending jewelry to another jeweler. But, who better to appreciate it?

    • Speaking of Annette,

I was feeling left out as I hadn't received a package near Christmas and my postman just knocked at my door and asked who I knew from Australia. Too bad the customs slip had to be filled out, but it does give me an opportunity to say thank you for the very generous gift of this beautiful aventurine and fresh water pearl necklace. It was way too generous and I will treasure it dearly.

Thank you Annette for your generosity and beautiful art.

      Susan

      • You're welcome Susan, yes, I gave up on trying to be a mystery when I realised my name had to be on the package!   You're a bit of mystery girl - I found one photo of you on your blog but couldn't tell if you wore earrings or bracelets etc., I thought a necklace would be safest and hoped this would go with your colouring.

    • Great earrings! I don't know who made those. I still haven't figured out who made the photo I received, but since I have all the background info on the participants I will be sleuthing it out.

You look great, Annette -- thanks for showing us your face with your new earrings. What do you think they are made of? Is the jeweler recycling something here?

      • I haven't seen tubes like this as findings around Connie and they do have some weight, so may very well be recycled.  A bit more modern than I usually wear, but I love them :)

  • Belated thank you's to my Secret Santa from New York. I went on vacation right after receiving the gift, and then promptly had a nasty cold afterwards so I was slow in getting the thank you out. My Secret Santa sent a pendant with a lovely blue stone and intricate wrapping which was presented to my better half who immediately said, "Ooh, that's pretty!". She loves it :-)

I had forgotten how tough it is to do photography of jewelry ;-)
