Well we have found a house.  It is nice and large with 3 acres and in a town with a population of 53.  That is both the draw and the problem.  I will be working from home and need internet access.  There is no cable or DSL available for the location.  Clif is going by this evening to check the air card connectivity but I would really like to use that as a backup rather than the primary.  I looked into HughesNet and not only does it not work with VPN which I need for my job but the web is rampant with negative comments about HughesNet.

Anybody know of any other options other than driving 30 miles to my mother-in-law's to "work from home"?

  • Verizon also makes a wireless device that will enable up to five WiFi devices. If you have Verizon cell service, that may give you some access. VPN? Don't know about that. Here's the link:

  • You know the new droid phone is it's own hot spot and can run up to three devices at once. If you have verison cell service, that would work.
I actually use my iphone when I'm out, but that may not have the best connection out where you are.
    Hope that's helpful.
