In Memoriam: Jim Kemp

Indiana potter Jim Kemp died on November 30 at his home in Greenwood, IN.

Jim has spent over 30 years as a potter and his work has been exhibited and collected nationwide. He has served as president of both the Talbot Street Art Fair Committee and Indiana Art Craftsmen. In 2005, Jim won the Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship Award presented annually by the Arts Council of Indianapolis.

Well known throughout the Midwest for his fine pottery, his friend John Bauman, had this to say:

For the thirty-five plus years I’ve known him, there has been no more creative, inspirational, hard-working potter in Indiana. Certainly there has been no better craftsman.
