With the zig zag of doing art shows and planning, should we send our packets certified mail? Each show is very very precise on what they need our you are out of the show.  How do we even know they received the packet? How long do you wait to call or inquire and why don't they put the approved online?

  • Wahooo I am in at Lucky number #222. See you there!

    • Congrats!!, See you in May!
  • Thank you Larry, very kind of you to share. It's something we all should have done years ago!
  • Nice straightforward layout. I'd be inclined to print it out poster size and stick in on the wall next to my desk.
  • This is what you need, or something similar. It's a form to keep track of all the applications and their requirements, paper or online.

    • I use something very similar in Excel although lately I'm thinking of changing columns from "notify date" to "expected notify date" and "actual notify date".

    • I saw a form somewhere similar to this one but it took a legal sheet on landscape for me to print it out.  And I was not using ginormous fonts either.  It was over complicated and never really used it.  This one you linked to is much simpler and easier to use.

      • I created that form back in the 35mm slide days.

Feel free to add categories if you think it will improve the form. Then post it back here.

  • There are still valid shows using paper applications. We just finished Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival sponsored by Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce this weekend. More about that later.

    • I agree.  There is a show about 5 minutes from my house that has gone on for decades, 2x/year.  It has around 300 booths and they still use paper applications, which are downloadabe from their website.

I applied to Red River Revel in Shreveport for this fall, it's ginormous compared to all the shows I've done.  The applicant has a choice to download & print the application or to apply online.

So yes, there are plenty of valid shows using paper apps.
