Just curious... do many art fairs in the Midwest offer free RV overnight parking?

If I could save lodging costs I might just get a used RV.

I thought I remembered one fair that I attended having this amenity. (cant' remember which, but it wasn't publicised in the fair information packet)

I figured there are probably many artists out there who RV to their events and would have all of the inside info on camping while at art fairs.

Thanks

  • Hey CB..... We found many MI shows have an area for RV or van overnight parking. MI also has many state parks we have used, a tad nicer than parking in a cement lot. The only area we have had to 'hotel' it is the Detroit Metro area.... but we have a Mariott card and get a great Residence Inn - the one with living room, refrig, microwave for around $55. You know our schedule - last year about 45% provided RV parking. See you at a few this year. Wishing you great successes!
  • Howard Alan usually does. And sometimes even runs a free shuttle at the beginning and end of the day for the artists. Your best bet is to network with artists that drive RV's and ask about specific shows you intend to apply to.

One thing I found that I needed to do when I drive a cube truck is to get to the show a day or two ahead of time to scope out the parking.
