It is always nice to get out of the Salt Lake Valley in January or February and escape the nasty inversion.
We made a fun trip to the Palm Springs area last January and I am certain my wife is going to want to return in 2015
It would be nice to find a highly regarded Art Festival that occurs in the area in either January or February so I can try to sell some of my photos

West Coast Artists puts on shows in the area. http://www.westcoastartists.com/index.html In Palm Springs, LaQuinta and a new venue in Cathedral City. I am a newbie so I don't know about the sales at them, but I live in LA and I have walked them and made purchases.
Palm Springs does have some good shows. It's a heavily populated gay area and they like expensive things, but more on the contemporary side. Southwest landscapes don't do well in that area. They look for something more unique.
