  • Hi, I have done this show three years in a row and it has always been an ok show, I am not sure I will travel far for it though, I live in Delaware about 5mins from location. As stated by Deborah the weather affected it last year and actually the year b4 too. With the right stuff you will do ok, the crowd is ok but mostly browsers, I have never done great but have spoken to friends that have been very pleased. In my opinion, too much booth for the amount of buyers. Organisation is really good, Barry does his best to cater to needs, and has revived the show from previous scam. The show is legit, the sales for me, not too great.

    • Thanks, Harrison.

I did this show for a few years- back in the early 80's! When I lived closer to it.

Then I moved away for several years, but now I'm "closer" to the show again.

So I am looking for shows in eastern PA and area.

For the past two years, I have been doing Mt. Gretna and the State College show,

but I need to find a few more.

      • Judy -- never knew about Mr. Gretna -- can you let me know about that show -- deborah@dorLdor.com

        thanks -

Here is the link. It's through Zapp. Anything else that you would need to know about the show?

          • How did you do?  Would you do it again?  Moving in and out?  Can you drive car to your spot and drop off stuff/pick up?  Is the area of the show level or hilly?

            Bathrooms?  Parking?  Thanks

            • I am generally satisfied with my sales, although I skipped two years when I felt that the customers needed a "break" from me.Loading in can be work, depending on where you are located. Loading out can be awful, again depending on where you are.  Some areas are level, some are not, expect the worst. Bring lots of shims.

One year I ruined my canopy top from being under a tree, now I am more careful.

The artists around me never compain about sales, although I have seen it going slowly at times, I think sometimes people just don't say.

I think it is a show worth trying. I have pottery.

  • Hi.  We did it last year.  It's in the top 200 in Sunshine Magazine.  Barry is a real 'mentsch.'  The weather ws forcasted as being severe -- he closed the show down early -- had people leave and gave time for us to hunker down our tents.  Luckily, the storm wasn't as severe but I did so appreciate his making sure everyone is safe.  He is up/down the festival - talking to people, making sure 'fires' are taken care of.  The setup was easy - we drove our stuff in and then had to park - not so close but ok.  Same with take-down.  People next to us left after the first day - it was their first show and they thought they would sell out.  There are grassy areas and parking lot areas.  He put us in the parking lot -- easier for Jay to maneuver in the wheelchair.  We didn't do 'booming' but it wasn't a bust.  We would do it again - best friends live in Wilmington - but alas, set up is on one of the Jewish High Holidays ... so we hope to do it the following year.  From what we were told, Barry took it over a few years ago and brought this show back to lilfe.

    • Thanks, Deborah. Think I will continue to look into it.

      Judy
