There have been discussions about Artist Friendly promoters. Well here's a twist.
We do a number of shows with Castleberry Fairs. The promoter is a husband and wife team of Chris and Terry M.
In early October Chris fell down some stairs and broke his neck, jaw and wrist. We found out at the Lincoln, NH show when their grown children were running the show. We heard the news and like all the other exhibitors, were genuinely concerned. He had to undergo surgery on his neck in November. Again, the surgery was the same time as a show they were promoting. Again their kids ran everything with no problems at all. But how many times have you had cards circulated to the exhibitors asking for a donation for flowers for the promoter? The card I signed had almost no room for our note either, as there were so many others signing. The messages were full of love.
Happily all went well and Chris was at the show in Wilmington, MA this past weekend. He was vertical and doing just fine. Oh, and the show went well too.
So when we talk about "artist friendly" I think of Castleberry. There is genuine love between the promoter and the exhibitors.

There are "Artist Friendly" Promoters. We also heard of Chris Mullen and our healing thoughts go to him. We do shows in Buffalo, NY with Premier Promotions. When they had a sudden lose of a Grandbaby, the crafters got together with a card and with all the donations from us, they opened a scholarship at a daycare in her name. Christmas in the Country is now the Ranked #1, for Sunshine Artist. One of the reasons for its success was stated that the crafters love the promoter so much.
It is such a pleasure to hear this kind of a story, Chris. From my experience most promoters do genuinely care about the exhibitors and like in this case, after you've been with them awhile you are family!
