Any suggestions for where to buy inexpensive battery operated lights? I am doing shows in Fl where shows end an hour after dark. Looking for something that will have long battery life and won't look tacky. Thanks! lisa

  • I went to Batteries plus and bought the battery and the inverter.  I was able to run my lights and cc machine.  It is better than trying to use battery operated lights which are not very bright.

    • I've heard that the marine batteries only last for about 3 hours, plus or minus.  Is that true, or is there a battery that will last throughout a 10-hour show day and can be re-charged in time for the next day?

      • I bought my marine battery and inverter at Walmart.  We ran 2 lights, credit card machine and 2 fans all day and the battery was still at 90% when we plugged it in to recharge.  We will take it to Auto Zone or an auto supply store to recharge for free if we don't take our charger.

  • Lisa - you're better off figuring out how to use a deep cycle marine battery to power your low wattage lights, we tried using battery operated lights and the cost of batteries sent us in the direction of the marine deep cycle battery after 2-3 shows of spending $$$ on batteries just to keep the lights running.   Search this site for Marine battery, deep cycle battery or something similar, there have been a couple good "how to" posts on the topic.

  • Marine supply stores.
