1024x768 or 1366x768 Screen Resolution Beware

If anyone, artists or jurors, has a laptop (or desktop monitor) with that resolution, or any device with 768 pixels in height, vertical and square jury images will be cropped off top and bottom with the new 750 pixel enlargement in the ZAPP Preview as Juror mode or when actual monitor jurying takes place.

Over the weekend I was contacted by a number of artists who experienced that problem when looking at their jury images in previously submitted applications:

I guess we were seeing inconsistent enlargement sizes in our profiles after the upgrade because ZAPP couldn't show us cropped images.

Forgot to mention that 1366x768 is the most common laptop resolution in the world.

  • Great. Now what? Do we scale our vertical images down so they are floating in a sea of black borders? Redesign our jury photos so they are all biased to be horizontal?  Why is it taking Zapp so long to resolve this issue?

    • Changing your image size won't effect how the jurors see the images. ZAPP reduces the images you upload for the monitor jury, and they are reducing them to a too large size.

All of these image issues have always had a simple solution. Revert the image size back to the way it was when everything worked properly.
