As previously mentioned, our favorite watch company had a deadline to provide information on the making of said watches.
Not only did they do this but they also mentioned possible legal action, perhaps a bluff but an effective one.
Here is some of the info I received from the festival director......
regarding the time it takes to make the watches--glue drying time is a large component of the 85 hours that it takes to "make" one of these watches.
regarding the…

Connie and I both received the following from the art director that I have been corresponding with regarding Mistura. I am continuing to respect the continued request for anonymity but will say that I know that most people on this website would be happy to be accepted at this art festival. I also feel confident that the information will be passed on to other festival directors. I am sure that Mistura will continue to be wonderfully successful selling their very cool watches at the…

This show started years ago with mostly local artists and you had a central paying location. While the local artists had some talent, there were far too many amateur artists. Impulse buying was nonexistent due to the paying process and I pretty much went to the show to visit with one of my husband's cousins.
Not sure exactly when in the last ten years they opened up the art festival to artists nationwide and got rid of that awful central buying system. This turned it into a really…

Well for me it was. I saw a lot of wonderful art from a lot of different artists.
This show is a notch above the Glen show, most likely because there are more new artists than your usual Amdur show.
But I have to admit, it was too big. This show is on two streets, a parking lot and a plaza. I would have been perfectly content with the street with the parking lot. The art in this area was so wonderful that I had found several things before I got to the other areas, (and…

I have been corresponding with a director at a large, well-respected art festival (she would prefer to remain anonymous, noone wants a reputation as being out to "get" artists) regarding Mistura, the watch people. She has received numerous questions about them and their veracity as artists but has been unable to come up with concrete facts.
Their website doesn't give enough info and they claim to be the artists. I know they were at the art festival in Lake Forest, IL today. Were…

Thank you Geri, I'm glad you like them. I missed the dead line for Racine. But hopefully next year. My options were that weekend aren't panning out. 2 rejections and 1 waiting to here. This year has been alot of rejections. My record so far is 17-17 with 16 still outstanding. Do you do any shows in IL during the summer? Hopefully we have a show in common this year. I'm working my way further way, KY in Oct or maybe, FL in early next year along with TX or OK.
Thank you for your business and hopefully we'll see each other on the road.
