Golden Fine Arts Festival 2017, Golden, CO, August 19-20, 2017

This was the 27th annual Golden Fine Arts Festival and the 14th continuous year I have participated in the event.  Golden, CO is at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  It is home for the Colorado School of Mines, a top engineering school, and the Coor’s brewery.  Students were returning to school the weekend of the show.

The show is set up for three blocks on 11th Street and over 130 artists from 20 states occupy 160 booth spaces.  There…

Art in the Park, Steamboat Springs, CO; July 8-9, 2017, Review

I hope the analysis in this review will be helpful to artists new to the business.  This was the 43rd annual Art in the Park.  Steamboat Springs is better known as a ski destination and a number of Olympic skiers call it home.  During the summer, river activities, cycling, hiking and golf are popular resort activities.  A lot of wealthy people have summer homes in Steamboat Springs, and many own horses.  Access to Steamboat Springs is by I70 and US40 from Denver,…

This was the 16th annual Art Market produced by the Art Center of Estes Park.  You can apply to the show on Zapp. The jury fee is $30 and standard booth fee is $300.  The application deadline is the first of March.

Estes Park is the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Access from Denver and I-25 is by US-34 through Big Thompson Canyon or US-36 up the St. Vrain…

Thanks for friending me Richard!! I have enjoyed the discussions, and your perspective as a leather Artist!! I met some really nice leather Artisans at a Celtic Festival when I was a teenager...fascinating watching them demo their work!! And as I needed a bracelet with my name (odd spelling, so had to have special ordered) my Mum & Da had one made for me...I STILL have it and wear it now. As a matter of fact, my daughter teethed on it, so it now has baby teeth imprints in it!! Your work is amazing...I peak at your saddles every now and again, wishing we still had horses, so I could get a saddle...they are gorgeous! See you on the Forums and Blogs!!
