Will 7 foot pro panels fit in Toyota Highlander?

I know this is a very specific question, but I'm hoping to buy the standard pro panels at 7 feet. I have a Toyota Highlander that appears to have only a 72 in. back bay, but I wonder if the legs are somehow retractable where the 7 foot panels could still fit. I've read about the knock down panels but I think I prefer the look and width of the standards. Welcome any thoughts. Thank you.

  • Pro panels are available in the 38" knock down widths. Here's one of the images from their web site; from what I read, the 7 foot panels in the knock down versions are a few inches shorter than the standard versions. The total height is the same but the display portion is more like 68-70 inches from top to bottom compared to the 72" height on the standard models.

    • Thank you, Robert! This is proving to be a harder decision than I thought... I do prefer the look of the one piece panels, but I have to also consider that even if I can fit them in my Highlander - down the road with a different car the breakdowns would be the safer bet. Thanks again!

      • I had used a series of Dodge/Plymouth extended minivans for years and those were just adequate to fit my 7ft panels in, but were cramped on space to get everything in and it was a game of "van Tetris" after most shows to repack. When the last minivan finally wore out, I looked at the newer Chrysler models and wasn't happy to see that the cargo space was redesigned with a curve at the back which rendered it just about useless to packing the panels in without wasted space. I bit the bullet at that point and bought a full size van, a Ford E-350 12 passenger van.

  • I had a Highlander and the there is exactly 73 inches of space from back door to back of the front seats with the back seats folded down. Sorry for the bad news.

    • Thank you

  • I can't answer your original question regarding whether the 7ft panels would fit your vehicle, but thought I'd mention that if you do end up going with a knockdown panel, the ones from Armstrong Display Products come in the standard 38" width that you prefer.

    • Thank you, Mandy!
