First of all, I've never done a high end art show. So take that for what it is.

But I'm trying to make my indoor booth look a little better.

I'm wondering if I should invest in a new indoor booth with pipe and drape (considering Innovative Systems and Georgia Expo -- any recommendations?) or simply get the extension pieces to use a trimline indoors (sans rooftop)?

Either way, I'm buying a new outside tent, the TrimLine.

Thank you.

  • We have a lightdome and used it without the top at an indoor show. Standard banjo cloth draping slides on the poles, and you raise up the structure to correct height.

There were several artists who did the same thing. One said, if the curved tips of your posts bother you (the curved tips where the tent roof beams would fit), get two pairs of cheap black socks and put them over the tips; they become fairly invisible --- assuming your artwork is interesting to view.

    good luck!

  • Use whatever makes your booth look better. You can use the frame of your Trimline with drapes also, if the 10x10 frame fits in the space they've given you. I've seen booth spaces at indoor shows that came out slightly shorter than advertised.

    • That's kind of what I'm concerned about.

I know you can get different size poles for the TrimLine, but then I need to carry all those with me I suppose. And then  there's the height thing. I imagine that might matter one day, no?

Larry, are you familiar with either Georgia Expo or Innovative Systems pipe and draping systems?

      Thanks again,

      Bobby

      • I know nothing about pipe and drape systems. I wouldn't worry about height of the poles but would expect the width of the cross bars to be adjustable so if there's a few less inches of space it could adapt.

But couldn't you adjust the Trimline cross bars? Do they slide inside each other. Light Dome bars do.
