I have recently been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension.  Heart/Lung related.  No energy can't set up my booth.

I can pay $15/hour and guarantee two hours minimum work.

My scheduled set up time is 6pm on Thursday, May 31.

My booth is R256 on Rich Street, thank God I am not on the bridge.

I will need help tearing down on SUNDAY TOO, STARTING AT 6pm.  Same pay and hours.

I need help bad.  Contact me thru here or even better, call me on my CP at 727-515-1600.

My email is Nelsphoto@aol.com

Appreciate the help.  This is the first time in 35 years I have ever had to ask for help.

Aloha, Nels.

  • Nels!

Sorry to hear of your health issues. My Dad has these issues also. Heat WILL exacerbate them. Keep cool, don't stress, and hire an art student- apprentice for the season for set up and tear down- they could benefit from your experiences! Glad to see you have found some help, take care!

    Wishing you well,

    Karole

  • Nels, I live in Columbus and would be happy to help you! No pay necessary. Let me know how to find you--my phone is 614-406-4615.

  • Well Nels Bells what the hell;  Be strong and just stay on it.  We would have helped you in V.B. but looks like you bailed on that premo corner on 29th.  NELS  my hypertension is a big word doctors use for stress- which we all learn to manage and not let it manage you. My Pulmonary (another big wide encompassing word) degenerating disease is C.O.P.D.- asbestosis, from my 40 years of glass blowing, and just all the junk in the air we have sucked in through the decades. I also had a major heart problem 15 years ago;  still here;  So don't freak out just grow older with grace; smell the roses- follow the docs advice(sort of- if he says no more tequila he's fired), and CHILL-- and you and I will  still be chillin (at shows???)  for many years to come. When you come back to Fl. we will go for a sail- you can shoot St. Augustine-  not my bird cruise though- Fair Winds

  • I am going to be at the Columbus Art Festival as well and will be there from the 6pm-9pm time also.. I will be located at M94.  I would be happy to help you out as much as possible.  I don't know how long it will take me to set up, as the tent is provided to me through the emerging artist program.  (also I may not be quite as helpful as the pros since this will be my first festival). Feel free to give me a call at (614) 361-1789 if you do need an extra hand - also I don't want pay, just a bit of experience.

    • Thanks Nicole, I have the setup covered, I need help at the teardown on Sunday

  • Nels -- I live in Cincinnati and am happy to come up to Columbus to help you set up on Thursday.  I'll give you a call.  I have to work Sunday evening, so who out there can help Nels tear down on Sunday the 3rd?

    • Nels-- I could help in Nashville, but will be toast after spending 5 hrs. setting up a double booth there.  I have a strong 16 yr old son who can follow instructions and needs money.  Email me at Will@willconnor.com if interested.  Best wishes getting through this.

      • Will do, can pay him

  • Hi Nels, I'm sorry to learn about your (hopefully VERY temporary!) health challenge.  As you know, I avoid the Midwest for religious reasons.  ;-)  But do post your schedule! If I can plan ahead for your Florida shows I would be happy to help you if you need it.

  • Sorry to hear about the health issues.  I've used Craigslist to hire local help around the house and yard and have had good success.  I've also had no shows, but that's rare.  I'd have a backup lined up just in case.

It's been my experience when advertising for help that you will get flooded with emails within a few hours.   Some will say "yo, I can do the work", others will read more like a resume.  Guess which one's get deleted immediately!

Wish I was closer to Columbus!  I'd be happy to help you.  Are you doing any shows further east, like the Boardwalk Show in VA Beach?
