What are the best things about art fairs

The best things about art fairs is getting to meet the people who are buying my art. I really love the energy of being around other vendors and seeing what is new in the art fair market.

Best show ever and why

John C. Campbell Folk School Fall Festival is my best show. I don't make my most money every year here but I am surrounded by 150+ other vendors who are some of the best in their craft and these folks are some of my best friends. I love the layout, the yummy food, and the great location. It is a hard show to work but It is my favorite.

Worst show ever and why

The worst show ever is a tie. One was so hot that I thought I would faint and the vendor next door to me yelled almost non-stop, "Fudge, get your fudge" in a very high and squeaky old man voice. He was told over and over by the promoter that he could not call out like that but he did not stop. People avoided my booth and I did not make enough money to pay my expenses. The other was a church bazaar and I was surrounded by people who made things from Walmart kits and sold yard sale stuff. There was no advertising (although the promoter said there would be) and hardly anyone came.

Who referred you to ArtFairInsiders.com? Please be specific.

I do not know the vendors name, but he and I were neighbors at a show at Cloudland Canyon State Park on November 8 and 9, 2015. He was a teacher from Dubuque, Iowa.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I am happy and cheerful all the time and I like to make people smile.
