What are the best things about art fairs
Used to be the crazy artists and customers and the great outdoors. The crazy artists got old including myself, the customers lost real interest in shows and stopped spending like crazy, and well, the great outdoors are still the great outdoors, except for the effect of global warming. Guess it is time to sell on the web.
Best show ever and why
Ann Arbor Summer Fair in its heydays-the roaring 80's and 90's when it was still unique, half a million visitors sought out the event from all over the Midwest, with artists from around the nation, tour buses drove in from Chicago with ready to shop customers, artists were happy with unending sales, packed streets and booths, great merchant support.
Worst show ever and why
There were a few over the years, so slow, next to no sales, and so bad I forgot about them. There were a few with weather challenges including a tornado that took our tent in Plymouth's Art in the Park in MI, or lightening that struck with torrential rain and washed our booth away in Palm Harbor FL.
