Best show ever and why
Beneath the Wreath, Grand Rapids, MI 2006. We were the booth with clients backed up four or five deep waiting to buy our work. The positive response was overwhelming. The promoters were exceptional, artist reception after set up, booth sitters, helpers offering to get change if we needed it, even a goodie/gift bag waiting for us at set up.
Worst show ever and why
Art in the Park, Athens, TN 1994 ? Set up in the mud, no help. Couldn't drive to booth site, had to cart everything across a field. Then the best part. Awards were given out. Best of Show went to the art council's (show promoter) last year's president. But wait, the best part... the judge was the Best of Show's aunt Sophie. There have been a few probably worse but that is the best story.
