  • Happy new year, Barbara. Thanks for playing Secret Santa!
  • Thanks so much for your pledge again, Barbara. I appreciate it and it really helps me with my mission of supporting the artists so they can earn a living in this crazy business.
  • Thank you for your generous support!
  • Ugh!  So sorry it didn't go as well for you as you had hoped... I'm surprised fiber didn't go over so well, actually.  (Lots of cold days to wear your really cool pieces!!)  However, now that you say you thought it was "2D heavy", I seem to remember a post by a painter encouraging other 2D artists to participate in this show since the major awards the past couple of years have been 2D.  If they do the "this is what won last year, this is what we'd like to have comparable" thing during jurying (which I don't know if they do or not, admittedly), then it might tend to skew the show 2D.  (Someone else was saying that might also affect what "kinds" of potters or what "kinds" of jewelers, etc. are accepted, even though that may not be what the market is buying.  So, the show sets certain media up for failure by not having the artists there whose work would be supported by the buyers.  Does that make sense?  It was an interesting discussion if you can find it on here...)  At any rate, good luck in all your ventures and I hope our paths will cross at a show someday!
  • Hey, Barbara!  How did Peoria go for you this year?  You had AMAZING weather for it!
  • Hi, Barbara!  Quick question... I'm writing a blog article about crazy things said at art shows and I'd love to use your example of the two ladies from Brooklyn/Jersey/the LI... One of my favorites!  Let me know... I'd rather make sure sharing stories outside of the AFI forum is ok with you!  Thanks!
