OMG -- I almost forgot to ask. This weekend brings some lovely shows around the country, and unfortunately nearly the end of the outdoor shows in the northern areas of the nation. Hope you've got a good one coming up.

I'm going to Grand Rapids for ArtPrize. It is such an exciting event, makes you love art and artists all over again and re-energizes all participants.

But I know there is the Plaza show in Kansas City, Birmingham Street Art Fair, Peoria Fine Art Fair... what else and where will you be?

  • Whoops, that was meant for next weekend. Guess I'll cut and paste later. ha!
  • Saint James Court, my first time. I'm on the inner circle of the St James section, which I've read here is not so good. But, keeping my hopes low and looking forward to enjoying the show and neighborhood. Suggestions from veterans on best places to catch a bite to eat?
  • South Fork Craftsmen's Guild in Bridgehampton NY - a small local show.

This is my 3rd with them this year - hoping the rain stops so folks will come out.

    • So - they cancelled the party and forgot to tell me.  SFCG is a very small show (maybe 20-25) We had rain/predicted flooding all day yesterday with more in the forecast for this morning. I figured I'd hang out in the car and wait for the rain to stop before setting up.  The rain blew through overnight, but still I took my time getting out this morning. I show up and no one's there. Just a big sign with next week's date. Apparently a number of artists had called yesterday morning to cancel. The group postponed till next weekend and emailed or called everyone, except me. Thankfully, it's only about 15 minutes from home. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'll be able to attend next weekend - all depends on how I feel after oral surgery Thursday.
      • That is so not cool.  I'm very surprised, after all, it IS only 20-25 artists and not very good business on their end to keep you informed! Jeanne, maybe next year I'll come back to LI and we can do our own private shows at campgrounds on the DL.  Selling there has been better for me than the last string of shows!
  • A weekend off with amazing summer weather for tomorrow, 80 in Seattle at the end of September, you can't beat that!!  About 12 degrees warmer than usual and sunny.  This time we're going camping for fun!  Bikes replaced all the show stuff in the truck, hiking boots are packed, one last weekend to enjoy the North Cascades before our normal fall weather makes its appearance!!
  • Newport Arts Festival, Booth 6D.  No dogs are allowed to the show :)
    • Say hello to Nichole for me, Caroline. That had to be pretty harrowing last month with the storm heading to Newport. Hope you have a good show.
      • Will do.. She seems dedicated to having a good show and a nice person as well!
    • Going by recent threads about dogs, there is a good chance of it being a good show!
