I'll be at Art at the Riverside in Leo, IN, where I'm consulting and judging the show. Sounds like fun near my hometown.

I know a bunch of you will be at these shows and others. Let us hear ... what's up, folks?

  • and here's an article about the show that I judged. So MANY things were done right! I'm so impressed with Marsha Wulpi's initiative -- she attends lots of art shows to get ideas PLUS she has artist advisors to get it right: http://www.journalgazette.net/entertainment/Leo-Cedarville-art-fair...

    • I'm glad the area is getting a decent art fair. I used to do the Three Rivers art fair on Freiman Square in Ft. Wayne but it went downhill badly about 15 years ago and I've not heard anything positive about it since. Covington was a good show for a while but I never hear about it any more. I hadn't heard about this one before, but will keep it in mind for next year. That was a nice article.

      • There were only 35 exhibitors (and the photography was not up to par), but the rest was very nice, carefully curated. Cheap, easy to do, lovely park, well dressed patrons, nice cars in the lot.  They are being very picky about how large to make it. Plenty of room, but her advisors (and me too) say to go easy, watch the sales reports before you enlarge.

Btw, the food trucks were fabulous!

Covington had terrible weather this year, think it was the same weekend as Crosby Gardens, still it is a nice area, not to be totally dismissed.

        • I know I'm putting this in the wrong place-feel free to move it-

I'm about to leave for Waterford Fair, Leesburg VA area, this coming weekend.

And very bad fair weather is predicted! Not just rain, but cold. And wind on Sunday.

Until this coming show, Waterford has always been good weather for us.

    • Three cheers for the art fair guru! WOOHOO! WOOHOO! WOOHOO!

  • I forgot to mention that I hope you have a fun day judging the show, Connie. I think it's time I hang out the ART SHOW JUDGE shingle in the West.

    • That is so cool, Barrie. My plan for my next life is to do historic preservation. This recycling is wonderful. You should be blogging ...

When I got to the show they showed me the article in the Fort Wayne paper, Constance Mettler, "celebrity judge" ... lol.

  • More garage studio renovation. Installing a second window made from the lower part of the old wooden garage door. This one will be a bit more work since it doesn't already have windows in it like the top part of the door did, which is the left side window shown here. WOOHOO!301671446?profile=original

  • I'll be showing my artwork in beautiful downtown Flagstaff, AZ at the Hopi All Native Arts and Culture Festival.

    • I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days in Flagstaff last winter. I'd never been there. Such a cool town. This sounds like a wonderful event, Dalton. I'd love a report afterwards. Have you participated before?
