What are you doing? As best I know there are only two art fairs here in the Midwest, the very sweet one day show in Lafayette, IN, Round the Fountain, and Art Birmingham in Birmingham, MI. Congrats to the people at the BBAC and The Guild for moving Art Birmingham to the Memorial Day weekend. Hope this is a good move and everyone brings home smiles and money.

Me, I'm painting the trim on my house, planting in the yard and hosting a party on Sunday night -- off to the paintbrushes now.

How about you?

  • Had a nice showing at a local (farmers & ) artist market Saturday, Back to the "day job" for a few days, then a day or two working up more shows to squeeze in, and working in the studio getting ready to repeat... wait, that's more than the weekend ;-)

  • We are home making artwork after a very good show in Tulsa....then back on the road again next weekend...

  • We'll be at ArtBirmingham this weekend. The layout in Shain Park is a bit different than last year's rain out. I've got a spot right in front of the fountain. There are quite a few well-known artists at this show, and I'm hoping that the date shift brings out a few more folks than in previous years. I think it's a good move for them, but let's see what the public thinks. Gonna be a hot one!

  • I'll be at Amdur's show in Barrington on Saturday.  Sunday is supposed to be 97 degrees so that should keep me from going to Schaumburg for their festival.

Hey Connie, there is this great website, Artfair Calendar that would let you know there will be about 450 artists scattered around the Chicago suburbs this holiday weekend!!!!!!!

    • Geri you are dedicated, for sure! We did Barrington a couple of years ago, but it was a bit too quiet for my work. Have a great weekend!

  • I'll be at a smallish local show on Saturday in Bridgehampton NY, sponsored by the South Fork Craftsmen's Guild.  We should have decent traffic if it's not a beach day.

  • I have a exhibition for wearable art at my local gallery - hand felted wool/silk coats, wraps and scarves that I am accessorising with my jewellery.  We've done this once before with her spring/summer range - this is the winter selection.

Set up was yesterday afternoon, the opening is this morning.     I have heaps of jewellery displayed but will have to remove half of it when the opening concludes for security, as some of the alcoves are well hidden and as the exhibition goes for a month, I don't want jewels walking away!

  • Northwest FolkLife - Seattle Center - This is a huge music/dance/art festival that will run for 4 long days.

  • I will be at the Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton, MA, Sat-Mon. It's a beautiful show of art and fine craft, expertly run, fun to exhibit in and to attend. If you are in the area, drop by for a visit, I'll be in booth 203.
