Big weekend coming up. I'd bet every artist who is in Florida will be at a show either at Coconut Grove, St. Stephens, Artigras, Uptown, etc. How about you?

Really important to me is that I am heading to Philadelphia to attend the Buyers Market of American Craft. I know a bunch of you will be there but this show is so huge. If you are going to be there will you please reply in the comments so we can meet?

Anyone else? What's happening on this holiday weekend for you?

  • I will be in my shop having way too much fun preparing for upcoming shows...Fest For All in Baton Rouge, New Orleans Jazz Fest and a Pensecola show in May. I was hoping for a few other shows but was waitlisted on three Texas shows and declined for a fourth....maybe next year...

  • If any of you are interested in Artigras in Jupiter, FL, next year here is a rundown of the event with all the schedules: http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2013/feb/14/fact-sheet-to-the-artigras-f...

  • Finally finished the last three of four trick saddles which will be shipped out tomorrow. Now I can get started on redoing my booth for 2014 show photos ( too late for this year), building inventory for this summer's shows, finishing three antique saddle restorations, getting the remaining show applications out, and doing all of those "honey do" projects I put off.
  • Sanibel Island.  Supposed to be rainy Fri. for setup, and cold and breezy on Sunday.  That should keep people off the beaches and at our show! ;-)  Looking forward to it.

    • Sounds like perfect Florida art fair weather -- no beaches, but doesn't it have to be at least 70 degrees to get folks out of their houses?

      • Well, I don't know the answer to that, but maybe by Sunday afternoon, I will!

The advantage of Sanibel is that the $6 bridge toll tends to keep people on the island, and this time of year the traffic can be brutal.  So they'll look for things to do locally before they head into Ft. Myers or Naples.  The show doesn't draw big-time from those towns for the same reason

  • I am home working on art to get my inventory up and working on two commissioned pieces.  My show schedule starts in April in Baton Rouge and so far it looks like I am going to be doing a lot of shows this spring!

    • No surprise, Elle. A little birdie told me your images looked terrific in St. Louis.

      • Well, thank you, Connie.  I appreciate that.

  • I will be at the Buyers Market in booth 514.  Come visit.
