Use a banner or don't use a banner

With todays marketplace being so competitive, I realize it is necessary to kick my display up a notch.  One of the things I am thinking of incorporating is a banner.  Anyone have input on whether a banner is where I should invest?  Does it provide an edge at our shows?

  • If you do small things, a banner is a great way to show people what you have from a long way off.  Very helpful for jewelry. I include my name, business name, logo, city, state, and the types of credit cards I accept.  Next update, I'll add a QR code leading to my website.

VistaPrint has cheap, decent quality banners.  Staple the plastic hangers onto it when you've mounted them because heat will make the adhesive fail.

  • I'll share a little tip what I have done .My website is on my banner instead of giving out cards I'd say about 90% of the customers have cameras on their phones now .I have them take a photo of my banner .Like I tell them you'll never lose it and in a year from now when deleting photos from your phone they may visit my site before they delete it.I got the idea when I was at a show I ran out of cards customer said I'll just take a photo of your website. It has worked well so far.

    • Wow! Never thought of that!!

It may not work in my case since about 50% of my customers are over 62 (there's that "Florida-retiree" thing again...;-)  )  But I'm going to give that a try. . .

  • Agreed, I have one too and it seems to polish off the booth.

  • I have had one on my booth for over 7 years now and it was the best thing i ever did,  got mine from someone in las vegas who is nolonger around. but highly recommend it.   my work is rather small and i have notice when i did a show in fountain hills AZ  ( nolonger do it cause of all the buy/sell) people from the other side of the street  (20ft away) would look at sign and come into booth.  yes invest, it will be well worth it.   My sign is blue letters on white background

  • It's about branding. You want your potential customers to remember you and come back. Same for finding you at future shows.

Don't forget to remove it for the booth picture.
