Tables and covers

Everyone asks about tents and display panels, but does anyone have a recommendation for where to purchase a sturdy, foldable table and cover? I don't need it printed or anything, but I also don't want a cheap vinyl cover from a party shop. The card tables I see at local stores are padded, so that won't work well. The ones I find online are expensive to ship. Help?

  • I purchased my table covers and skirts on ebay.  Look for Premiertablelinens as a seller.  Great products and prices.

  • BJ's online has the Lifetime brand 4'x2' fold in half tables that go to up to 36" high.  I make covers from wrinkle resistant twin size flat sheets.  Long way, they go to the ground on both sides of the table with no further adjustment needed.  They're not wide enough to sew shut on both ends, but I use my tables butted end to end and the open ends overlap nicely.  I expect a full flat sheet will provide the extra fabric to sew both ends shut.

  • I am new here, but I can tell you that you can get nice 4ft folding tables at Lowe's and I have used the Propanel podium (the one with a shelf underneath) and really like it.  I believe they came in several colors - we have the dark grey one like our panels.  The podium is very convenient - just the right height for writing on while standing.  Lowe's has both 4ft and 6ft tables that are light weight and very sturdy.  Lynn

  • Foldable tables can be found at Costco stores.  They have the standard banquet and foldable.  Look to your local fabric store for covers.  I used fabric and taped it to the table.  You can see my example in the classifieds.  I am selling my equiptment.

  • Just saw this post

I am a jeweler in Maine. I purchased my tables at various places, home depot, a fold in half 6 ft. and a personal table, (similar to the old tv trays from the 60's), a four ft x 2ft table that I use for my desk, and a fold in half 5 ft table from Staples, and I have a 3x3 (card table sized, but hard topped) I bought at Walmart. For covers I use plain black cotton king and queen sized flat sheets. They stand up to the wear and tear, weather, and are easy to care for- just toss in the washer/dryer, fold and put away. To secure them so they don't blow- I just attach those little sticky velcro tabs wherever needed- to the legs and the cloth. Easy- peasy.

  • I use a folding table that I got from Costco 5-6 years ago.  The legs are adjustable for height.  The size is 30" x 72".  I'm a photographer and I use the table to hold my card rack, some smaller framed work (5 x 7s), and whatever else I need.  The end is my desk, usually with a couple framed prints hiding my lunch or drink:-)  I haven't seen this particular table in Costco recently but some stores may have it.

The fitted table covers I got from a retail outlet that was remodeling.  I got two.  They are a heavy duty polyester-like material.  The price was right - free.  The good thing about the table covers is that they hide a ton of stuff under the table!

  • My favorite folding utility table is from Target. It's 20x48 inches:

    • Thanks, Larry.  I'll keep that in mind.  I also saw that Staples has them, at least on their website.  And I found that a local print shop has the covers, in case I run out of time to make something on my own.  I do sew, and my mom (next door) has her sewing space set up, so I might try sewing a nice cover if I don't do the plastic bins.

  • Anne - here are a couple of past discussions to review as well, might give you some ideas.
