Memorial Day weekend in Virginia Beach..... there is a wonderful little art show on the Boardwalk at the oceanfront. The art show is part of a surf contest - and most of the art has a beach theme.... but not all.
So far, the organizer, Jodie Woodward, has focused on local artists. Jodie attends every art show she can find in this area.... watching for artists she wants in the show - and extending a personal invitation. At this point it is not juried. This year there were about 50 artists - all high quality. I'm sure next year will be bigger.
This is a fun show for me - move in is super easy.... driving right up to your booth to load in and load out. Jodie is easy going and supportive.... no art police hassles. I love the laid back energy of this show! This was my second time doing the show - and both times the money was good. I'd do it again.
The crowd is not just surfers - it's also locals and tourists.

Thanks! I wish more shows would hire my husband (or someone with good video skills) - I think having a video representation of a show helps bring more customers, and also helps the artists get a feel for the set up.
