Question about pipe and drape material/color, etc.

Hi all - I am a jeweler in PA and currently have a pipe and drape setup that is 6' high and the drapes are teal.  I like the color and think it helps me to stand out a little from the black drapes that most people use (my table cloths are black and I have blue/grey painted wooden shelves).  I'm thinking that I may need to upgrade to 8' height and am again contemplating what color drapes to get.  One thing I noticed with the teal is that every little wrinkle seems to show, so I press them and roll them on wide PVC pipe sections to try to alleviate fold lines (quite a PITA!).  I used to fold them nicely and lay them flat, but too many wrinkles.

For those that use black material, do you think the wrinkles show or do you have another system for keeping your drapes wrinkle free?  Where did you get your drapes from?

Thanks!
Megan

  • Well, I was able to solve my own problem! I attended a show this weekend to help a friend and on one of my walkabouts, stopped to speak to another jewelry who had great drapes. She got them from Lowe's! Much cheaper than the more formal pieces sold AND the material is supposed to be wrinkly, so all of my problems have been solved! For my backdrop anyway.............
    • Just make sure they are fire resistant and you can get a certificate from the manufacture to pass inspection from the fire marshals.
