I just bought a used Craft Hut and I need to find a good solution for carrying the parts. The person i bought it from just had the poles in the original boxes and the canopy and sides in a plastic bin. Looking at the Craft Hut site I do not see a carry bag option. The trimline site does have some pole bags, but they are $70 each and it says you need two just for the poles. That is a little expensive just for a couple bags. Does anyone know of a good solution? I am just having a hard time picturing who else may have five feet long bags available. I will probably just be better off breaking down and buying the Trimline bags...

  • They have mesh bags for $43 http://www.flourish.com/trimline_bags.html  I got one for my support poles.

You might also want to look at a camping supply for tent pole bags.

  • Thanks for all the responses. For the time being I am trying to just strap the poles together with some velcro straps and store the canopies in a plastic bin.

    • Duffel bags for the sides and top.

Bungie sets of poles together. Works better than velcro. Velcro tends to come undone with heavy stress or loading.

  • I have a trimline.  I use different color bungees to tie certain poles to eachother, no bags for the poles.  The ski bag is a good idea though.  I have a couple of those.  I also got a very large black canvas duffle in the walmart camping section for $10.  The canopy, walls and awnings all fit in the bag.
    • One additional piece of advice, if you are going to use a duffle bag for the canopy/walls/awnings, make sure it will contain the water if you have to tear down in the rain.  Learned that the hard way a couple of times after we had water leaking all over the floor of the van, so we switched to a plastic bin, may not be much of an issue in some parts of the country, but certainly was an issue for our Seattle area shows.

  • We have the Trimline tent.  We use 4 pole bags from Flourish.  One for the tops poles, one for the legs and staybars, one for the 3 awning poles and one for our light poles and light strips.  We carry the metal parts in a large toolbox from Lowes.  The sides we carry in two water proof bags we got from one of the luggage stores in an outlet mall  (About $10 each)  We carry the top in a Duffel bag style bag.  We seperate the joints from the legs and place in the toolbox.  We carefully fold the tent top and sides after each show and it is now over 11 years old and still looks new.  Good Luck.
  • We use bags that are intended for ski / snowboard equipment.  We originally ordered ours from the Sierra Nevada Training company's Outlet catalog.  Unfortunately it may be the wrong time of year to be able to find one in the clearance or outlet section.

    • OMG I know this post is 5 years old but THANK YOU!!! Ski bags are the best idea ever since I already have two.

  • I always used three bags for the Craft Hut pieces, and a large Rubbermaid bin for the top and sides. With awning pieces, I used two bags for the metal pieces and one for the PVC pieces. If you have access to a commercial sewing machine, the fabric used for the bags and I think the mesh walls comes from:

But If it were me, I'd order two bags and order a third if there wasn't enough room in two. Ease of use and the value of my time is more important than trying to save a few dollars.
